What’s a Medicare Advantage Plan?
A Medicare Advantage plan combines hospital (Part A) and medical (Part B) coverage in one plan. Some Medicare Advantage (often referred to as MA) plans cover prescription drugs (Part D) too.
Medicare Advantage plans are offered through private companies, like Health Partners Plans. They are an affordable option for many Medicare beneficiaries. In fact, your out-of-pocket costs often are lower in a Medicare Advantage plan. For these reasons, millions of Americans enjoy all the advantages of a Medicare Advantage plan.
What can a Medicare Advantage plan offer?
Many plans offer extra coverage and benefits that Original Medicare doesn’t cover, including:
- Dental coverage
- Vision coverage and eyewear allowance
- Hearing aid benefit
- Fitness club memberships
- Transportation benefit
- Over-the-counter health items allowance
- Worldwide emergency coverage
Copay, coinsurance and premium costs vary among MA plans.
