MTM Frequently Asked Questions
Why would I use the MTM program?
If you take several medicines or have a serious condition, the MTM review can help spot possible problems in how your medicines work together.
How can the MTM program save me money?
Your MTM pharmacist will review your medicines and tell you if you are taking more than one drug that has the same purpose. If so, the pharmacist will talk with your doctors, with your permission, to find out if changes can be made to your prescriptions.
Will I pay any additional costs or fees for the MTM program?
No. This program is offered at no cost to you.
Can I use my regular pharmacy and see an MTM pharmacist at a different pharmacy?
Yes. Not all local pharmacists have completed the MTM training. You can see an MTM pharmacist for your review at a different pharmacy than you regularly use.
Will I be required to use a pharmacy that is in the Health Partners Medicare network?
In general, you must use our network pharmacies to get your prescriptions and MTM services. Please be aware that our formulary and pharmacy network may change on January 1 of each year.
Will I be required to join the MTM program?
All eligible members are automatically enrolled in the MTM program at no cost. However, your participation is voluntary.
What if I do not want to be enrolled in the MTM program?
You can always opt out if you no longer want to receive MTM services. Call our Member Relations department at 1-866-901-8000 (TTY 1-877-454-8477) to opt out.
How do I find an MTM pharmacist?
Call our Member Relations department at the numbers above to find a participating MTM pharmacist.
